The Annual PARC Playwrights' Colony is a two-week annual retreat for seven to twelve playwrights to write, develop and refine a script with the support of a team of dramaturges and workshop actors. The first week is essentially a playwrights' retreat, with playwrights working individually with a dramaturge. In the second week, working with a company of actors, at least five and up to as many as twelve playwrights (emerging and established) from across the Region have an opportunity to develop a new script. The Colony provides playwrights with the time to write, to reflect and to revisit their work in a supportive and nurturing environment.
The annual Playwrights' Colony will take place at Mount Allison University from May 13 - 27th, 2018.
To apply please send your script to PARC's Artistic Director, Pamela Halstead, and a brief letter describing where you are in the process of developing the script and what you hope to accomplish at the Playwrights' Colony. You can email a PDF to firstname.lastname@example.org or mail a hard copy to the PARC Office : Crabtree Building, B10 & 11, Mount Allison University, 49 A York At., Sackville, N.B. E4L 1C7.
