PARC Playwright Profile for March 2019 is James McClure

James McClure is a playwright, journalist and scholar living in Saint John, New Brunswick, where he works as editor of the cannabis culture website Civilized and teaches medieval literature at the University of New Brunswick. His plays Faking It (2016) and Face Values (2018) have been workshopped and produced by the Saint John Theatre Company as part of the Script Happens playwrighting competition. In 2018, his one-act play Glass Closets was workshopped at the PARC Playwrights’ Colony at Mount Allison University before being mounted at the Fundy Fringe Festival, where the debut performance won the festival's Best Ensemble Award.
