Come celebrate the work of Island playwrights!
The third annual Playwrights Cabaret is being hosted by the P.E.I. wing of PARC on Thursday October 12th at 7 pm.
The first two cabarets were such a great success that they've outgrown their location! This year the event will be at Upstreet Brewery, 41 Allen Street in Charlottetown.
Enjoy a meal or drink and listen to readings by talented island playwrights; Jeff Bursey, Margie Carmichael, Rob MacLean, Melissa Mullen, Malcolm Murray, Carole Oleniuk, Rory Starkman, and J.J. Steinfeld.
Part of the fun of the evening will be guessing the common theme, location, object used and line of dialogue that PARC members have wrtitten into the scripts!
An excerpt from Just The Way It Is, written by PARC member Rory Starkman, will be read at the PARC Playwrights’ Cabaret. Rory Starkman is the winner of its first annual award for Best Original Play by a PEI playwright at the Island Fringe Festival. Rory’s first play, Just The Way It Is, a semi-autobiographical show about one person's journey to discovering themselves outside of the gender binary, had its world premiere at the 2017 festival.
The Cabaret is hosted by P.E.I. PARC board members Kathleen Hamilton and Melissa Mullen. There will be an intermission with cash food and bar service. Admission is by donation.
