Tarragon Theatre is thrilled to announce the creation of a position unique in Canadian theatre: a fully-salaried, two-year term as Playwright-in-Residence. In addition to writing plays for production at Tarragon, the selected Playwright-in-Residence will also contribute to the theatre in a way that befits their own interests and skills, potentially leading workshops and courses, participating in audience outreach activities, or providing mentorship to the members of Tarragon’s Playwrights Unit.
To be considered for this program, please provide the following materials:
1. A Cover Letter (maximum 3 pages) detailing your artistic vision, your professional body of work up to this point, and at least two proposed projects with development timelines.
2. A Resume outlining your professional playwriting experience.
3. A Script Sample (maximum 20 pages). The play can be in any stage of development. We invite you to submit the project that you find most compelling at this moment.
Select applicants will be invited to submit their full scripts and to attend an interview with the senior artistic staff of the theatre.
